E-mail: Para8Dice@AOL.Com Author: Paradise Written: February 2000 Comments: Scully's slightly out of character in this, in that she shows some more emotion than usual. Please though, read it if you're a shipper and or you can't stand Fowley and Mulder's dumb taste other than Scully. _______________________________________________________ FBI Building 3:12 PM Mulder and Scully were growing so much closer. The care between them was becoming deeper, and the sexual tension was becoming harder to resist. The eye gazes were a little longer and the flirting jokes were a bit more frequent. She'd caressed his hair twice in a week, once because she'd caught him looking at an old photograph of Samantha. Everyone was noticing. Skinner had noticed, their peers had assumed they'd done more than they had. They still hadn't kissed yet. Diana had tried to prevent it a few times by walking in on a close moment unexpectedly. Scully though wasn't fooled. Besides, Diana wasn't his partner, and so she couldn't be with Mulder all the time. Scully had been attempting to look as good as possible recently. A dash more eye shadow, her hair a little longer and fuller, and her lips and eyes more noticable. If that was possible. Scully walked confidently in a light blue suit. The FBI was all together thinking she was totally changing, and in her heart, she was. Her suit had a long jacket to it, a short shirt, and she wore black heels. She passed Agent Fowley's desk. Diana was talking to one of their peers. "...she's probably not even a natural redhead and her breasts are sma-" "Excuse me," Dana said. Mulder stepped up and placed his hand on Scully's shoulder. "What's going on," he said. "Agent Fowley and I need to talk...no...all of us need to talk. Now, together." They walked into a storage room. "Agent Fowley, about me hair. Would you like me to hike up my shirt and prove to you I'm a redhead?" "Whoa, whoa whoa," Mulder moaned. "What's going on?" "And about my breasts," Scully began. Mulder covered his eyes. "Agent Scully, they are...I'm sure that you have very nice, small breasts, but they could get done." "Where as yours could be lifted forty feet!" Fowley walked towards Dana but Mulder grabbed her shoulders. "Diana, Diana, don't! Skinner could walk in here any minute. Besides, Dan-Diana," he said, "Your breasts are fine...and Scully, yours are fine too. Now what the hell is going on?" "Agent Scully doesn't seem to understand our past." "Anymore than you can understand the present." "You don't know the things I know about Fox." "Fox," Dana said through thought. "You lied to me. Why is it that when I called you Fox, you told me not to, but she does?" "Because he and I close. Fox, you don't even call her by her first name." "Diana," he said slowly. "I can call *Dana* whatever I want." Diana touched Mulder's shoulder when he turned to look at his partner. A spasm of pain hit Scully's face. Mulder turned back towards Diana. "Fox, I need you...I need to talk to you. I know it's been over, but you owe me that much, after all we had." Dana rolled her eyes, and Mulder looked at her. "Scully." "Fine, I'm leaving. Good bye." Scully slammed the door behind her. "Fox, you think it isn't noticable?" "What?" "Don't play dumb. You and her, becoming so close." "We've been close since our first case." "And how is that?" "She never left." "Oh I see," she said. "This is about you getting back at me." "Excuse me?" "You're angry that I had to leave, so you're trying to make me jealous." "Look, my feelings about Scully have nothing to do with us." "You're feelings?" "Good bye, Diana." Mulder said nothing else, but left. _______________________________________________________ Three Days Later Dana Scully had e-mailed Diana Fowley with an unrepliable address that hinted Mulder had a girl friend who was coming back into town. A girl friend he'd had directly before her. Phoebe Green. Dana had found out earlier that Phoebe was once again going to grace the FBI with her presence. She'd arranged for the Lone Gunman to have Phoebe and Diana run into each other, and just happen to walk in to Mulder and Scully's office... Scully got up early the day it was all going to take place, and slowly got herself ready. She used foundation over her face covering up her light, red freckles, mascara to thinken her ruby eye lashes, blue to add light to her face, eye shadow to draw attention to her big blue eyes, and she drew her lips a little fuller, a little wetter, even though she didn't need to. She curled the bottom of her lush, red hair. She picked out moderately tight blue pants, a white shirt, and a matching blue jacket that went to her knees. She left the jacket unbuttoned, and was proud of the way she looked. XxX "Mulder, can we talk?" "Of course," he said turning to her with his cute little glasses. She was leaning over his shoulder, and now he was looking up to her. She liked it whenever he happened to be looking up at her, instead of the other way around. "Tell me about Phoebe." "What is it with you and my ex-girl friends?" "What did you have against Ed Jerse?" They were silent for a moment. "Scully, I think we both feel..." "When that bee stung me," she trailed off. "What, Scully?" "Don't you feel it," she said putting her hands on his suit. Mulder pulled her in his lap and looked at her tenderly like he had so many times before. His thumbs gently held her temples and the rest of his fingers gripped her head and played with her hair. Without saying a word he launched towards her, taking her lips in his own, and she moaned in happiness for she'd wanted it for so long. His kiss was everything she'd hoped. Her lips were so full, colliding with his. Neither one of them had any intention of stopping, and they made that quite clear to one another. He stood up, and she was straddling his hips. He leaned over have the desk help support her, and knocked the lamp, name plate, and papers off it. He gently lied her down, and he unzipped his pants. She embraced him lovingly, kissing him. She opened her mouth and tenderly stroked his tongue with hers. His hands rid her of her jacket and otgehter they lifted her white shirt off. He bent down and harshly kissed her as he slipped his hand beneath her and pulled her closer. He noticed her bra clasp was in the front. He undid it, but the bra remained around her shoulders. He continued to kiss her. Finally, he pulled back. "What's wrong," she asked. "I can see," he said with fogged glasses. She exhaled a laugh and slowly took his glasses off. He bent down and kissed her, knocking a few more thing off his desk and he moved between her legs. "...You're a liar-OH MY GOD!" Diana Fowley turned white. Mulder, while his lips still half way on Scully's, looked up to see his two ex-girlfriends, and he had a look of an eight year old boy in the middle of his first kiss and his parents walking in. Scully looked back and even upside down, she knew who was there. "Fox, wh..." Mulder moved to get off of Scully but she grabbed his arms and held him firmly on her. "Don't you dare move until I get my bra on." She gathered the cups to her bra and clasped the clasp. Mulder slowly got off of her and she sat up. Mulder reached down, gripped his pants, and jumped up so they went back over his hips. Even Diana had to bite her lip to keep from laughing for it looked so silly. "Agent Fowley, would you hand me my shirt?" Scully wiped her mouth and put her shirt back on, then looked at Mulder. He wiped his mouth too. Her lips were bruised. "Phoebe, what are you doing here? Back in the states so soon?" "It's been six years." Scully looked at Phoebe. She'd grown her hair out longer and she looked great. She looked good. Scully wasn't worried though. "I could've waited a life time longer," Mulder said. "Fox," Diana wailed. "You were with Ms. Green?" "Unfortunately yes." "What do you think you're doing with Agent Scully?" "Exactly waht it looked light, Diana." "In your office," Phoebe said. "I thought you had better taste." Mulder smiled a little. "With you, Phoebe, we planned where we would do it. You were so ordinary,, we needed special places." "No one knows you like I do," she replied. Phoebe then stepped forward. "Dana Scully, right? It's been years. I can see this was your first attempt with him, wasn't it," she said with a rich British accent. Diana walked over to Fox. She took his hand. "Fox, you know how much I care. Don't make this mistake." "No no, this isn't a mistake. The only mistake is that I didn't lock the door." "Fox, how can you do this?" "Do what?" "Throw away all we had. I know you thought I was the one. We have a chance now." Phoebe walked towards him. "How long after we were together, did you find her?" "Immediately. And yes Diana, I thought you were the one, but you proved me wrong by leaving." He walked over towards Scully. "She is the only one that hasn't left me." "Fox, I'm sorry, but you believed that I loved you then. Can I please talk with you?" He shook his head. "After all we've been through, Fox, look at me. At least let me explain." Mulder exhaled. So he still loved her. He didn't know why. But he wasn't going to listen to her right now. He had a life without her, and it wasn't his fault. "Fowley, you're a self centered bitch who doesn't care about him." "Don't you dare judge me and tell me what I feel." "What were doing all over Europe?" "I was with the government." "And then you came back and pretended to be on Mulder's side, but you never were." "I had loyalties." "Loyalties? Your loyalties were more important to you than this man standing right here? You threw him away and went to the other side, so don't stand there and judge him about not caring enough about what you two had!" Just then, Skinner walked in. "Excuse me, what the hell is going on here?" Scully tried to look as normal as she could. Were all her buttons on correct? "Sir, Agent Fowley and Ms. Green just dropped in." "For what purpose Agent Fowley?" "Sir," she replied. "I'm having a problem right now that I'd like to correct. May I speak to Agent Mulder?" He nodded, annoyed, and stepped out of the room. Diana turned back to Fox, taking his hand. "Listen to me, you owe it to me to talk with me. Alone. You think you can just rip off her clothes and sleep with her and then everything will be fine?" Mulder looked into Diana's deep blue eyes. Dammit. Was she right? Did he care? He was about to fulfill his fantasy, and his ex-girlfriend is telling him something, or trying to anyway. He did owe her that much. If not, he owed himself that much. "Phoebe, good bye." "So soon?" "Cheerio," he said in a fake British accent. She turned and stepped outside. Scully looked at Mulder, and he told her with his eyes to leave. It broke her heart. She nodded, defeated, and left. She walked out, swaying her hands by her side, and was too pissed to even approach Phoebe. Skinner grabbed her as she walked passed him. "Sir!" "Scully, is what Fowley said true?" "Excuse me?" "That you and Agent Mulder were-" "Oh, well, uh, no sir, of course not. Agent Fowley's mistaken." "Is she?" "Well, yes, she...oh hell. You know. So the secret's out. Like the FBI didn't suspect it." He looked down from her eyes and smiled a little. "Aren't you going to tell me how it's against bureau policy and that it shouldn't ever have happened and that you're going to reassign us immediately?" He searched her eyes, his hands still firmly against her upper arms. "No." "Sir, you're always the one that explains to me that you could lose your position in the state of law if you do what I ask." "And when have I ever stuck to that?" She smiled at him. "Thank you, but I think I lost again." She turned and left, and he knew she was talking about Diana Fowley... XxX "Fox, wait. I loved you. I've always loved you. Don't leave me!" "Leave YOU?" "Yes, we have a chance now. I never stopped loving you." "You left me. You can't ask me after all these years to just pick up where we left off." "Answer me this then. Can you honestly tell me you don't care about me any longer?" He stared. "No, I can't." "Can you honestly tell me you want that mealy mouthed, simpering little doctor who doesn't in you or your beliefs?" "You're wrong. Scully has stood by me forever. She's never left. You did. She's stuck by me and I told you before, she believes me and in me, she just makes me prove what I believe in." She walked slowly towards him. "Can you truthfully tell me you don't miss us?" His eyes narrowed. "I miss what we used to have, but I have something else now, without you. I have something with someone different, and I know we could never make our past be the present." She started to speak but he cut her off. "And I'm not willing to try." "Well, are you at least going to dignify her with the truth? About our past?" "Of course I will." A tear fell down her cheek and she took her hands and wiped the tears. "You didn't have to leave, Diana." "It's not that. It's that you don't regret that I left, because you have her now. But *I* regret it." He tried to embrace her, old feelings overpowering him. She cried in his arms for a moment, wanting so desperately to believe it was going to be forever, but she sniffed and pulled back, realizing the truth. "I still love you. I'm not afraid of it, but I can't embrace it or you the way I could. I'm so sorry for leaving you all those years ago, and whatever she tells you I was doing, believe me when I say to you that I did it because I thought it was the best thing to do. I didn't know what else to do." "I believe you." "But you believe her." "I believe her and I believe you. It's possible to do both you know. I don't necessarily believe what you did was right, but I believe that you thought at the time you were doing the best you could." "I was. Tell me something about her." "Excuse me?" "Agent Scully, tell me something about her that I have, that she doesn't." He looked at her confused. "I have to know, Fox, please." "Okay...um, she's petite." "And?" "She wears glasses sometimes, okay?" "No no, come on, something big, something else." "Uh, oh, okay, she studders sometimes the way I do. I think it's rubbed off on her." She smiled with her eyes full of tears. "Thank you," she said. He smiled back and left. _______________________________________________________ Dana Scully's Apartment 10:02 Dana put on a silk white gown with a floating skirt. The top was spaghetti strapped, with a low V-neck and cups that pushed up revealed every part of her breasts except the nipple. She was feeling down because of Muloder. She decided to make herself look as good as she could, to boost her ego. She was pacing her apartment, bored as hell. To keep herself busy, she put her hair up in curliers and put on some make up. She dragged the mascara slowly and repeatedly along her think eyelashes. She put red lipstick on her full lips. After that, she was still bored so she turned on the television and ate some chocolate ice cream. She delicately ate small bites, and watched Third Watch. There was a new woman on, Eva LaRue, who played Brooke, the hot guy's new girlfriend. This woman was beautiful. Scully thought for the first time in years. She grabbed a robe and put it over her. Suddenly, a hand was enclosed over her shoulder and she jumped. "Jesus!" "Sorry Scully, didn't mean to scare you." "What's wrong," Scully asked. "Nothing, can we talk?" Her eyes widened. "What," he chuckled. "I've only heard you say that once, and it turned out not to be you." He knew exactly who she was talking about. "Well, it's me this time, and I want to finally tell you the truth." "The truth about what?" "Diana Fowley." "Oh you don't owe me an-" "I owe you *everything*." He sat down on the couch next to her, took the spoon and ice cream, and began eating. "Diana and I met in England. I was still with Phoebe but we weren't doing well. She wasn't taking our relationship seriously if you get what I mean. I met Diana, and I fell in love immediately. I had an affair with her while still with Phoebe, not like Phoebe gave a damn, but Diana left to go return to America abruptly. They never knew about each other. The day Diana left though, Phoebe broke up with me. So I lost them both. "I came back here, got recruited by the bureau, and there she was, partnered up with me. We worked together on the X-Files, and then things became difficult." "Because you were in love with her?" Mulder sighed. "That and...she became pregnant." Scully was amazed. "Oh," she said calmly. "And...it was yours?" She could feel tears prickling her eyelids. "Yeah. We were both so young and not ready to settle down and have a child. We argued quite a bit and after a lot of tears, she deciding to have an abortion." "God Mulder, what you must've-" "I told her I'd stand by her and be with her, but by this time the FBI could tell something was up. The night before the procedures were going to take place, she was asleep in my arms, and she began to bleed. Within minutes, she was in terrible pain and the bed was drenched with blood. I looked down at my hands...it was awful. I took her to the hospital, and was with her as she lie sleeping, the baby long gone. "As she lie sleeping, I envisioned our baby growing up. I imagined it a girl, I believe it was. It would have brown hair and blue eyes like her. I saw myself reading her a bedtime story, fixing breakfast, buying school supplies, and somehow, I felt it died because of us. Because we didn't want it. It wasn't even that we didn't want it, but we had a quest that we'd just begun and a life ahead of us not including a child at that time. But she died because of me." "Mulder, that is not true. I'm a doctor. Miscarriages occur three out of every ten pregnancies." "Yeah but, *my* child died." "I know what it's like." "Diana continued to bleed, to weaken, and the doctors predicted she would die. I was losing everyone. I stayed with her the entire time, and she somehow survived. She opened her eyes and looked at me, and she knew. We cried because we knew it was over. Not just our baby's life, but our partnership, love affair, and our future life together. Too much had happened for us to go back to the way it used to be, no matter how wonderful it was. I had no idea she'd disappear so soon after her recovery, and I wouldn't hear from her for six years." "Mulder, I'm so sorry." "So that's why I still care. That's why I find it hard to believe she's working against me. She was almost murdered trying to save me." "That much I know is true." "When I was abducted by the Cigarette Man, I dreamed of her. I saw her in a wedding gown, I saw her pregnant and say to me, 'It's time, honey', I saw her playing with our children, I saw her dying, and then..." "And that, what?" "And then I opened my eyes and she was there, performing tests on me, with him. She looked at me with regret and then she left. I fell back asleep, and then you were there, holding me." "She gave me the key that lead me to you. She knew I'd save you." "And you did." He cupped her face and ran his thumbs along her soft cheeks. "Even when I envisioned Diana and myself playing with our children, or getting married, I...I knew it wasn't right." She smiled. "What are you trying to say?" "Her leaving was the best thing that ever happened. It opened the door for you. I've been in love with you since I first looked at you." A tear slipped from her eye. "Then why...why didn't you..." she trailed off. "Because I lept into an affair with Diana, and she left. I couldn't rish losing you." She cupped his face while his hands remained on hers. "You never would've lost me like you lost her." "Then let's not waste another minute." Fiercely, he kissed her, desperate. His arms wrapped around her like vines, and it was the most incredible feeling. She inhaled his kiss, smothering her mouth with his. He stood up and she joined him, mouths still pressed together. She wrapped her arms around his neck and he cupped her bottom and lifted her so her strong legs climbed around him. He carried her to her bedroom, as her fingers tangled in his hair and she moaned over and over into his perfect kiss. He gently set her down. For some reason, there were books all over her bed. He ran his arm across her bed, knocking them all off. Then he looked at her, the light showing through from the other room. Scully looked at him confidently even if she didn't have breasts like Fowley. She took hold of each side of her robe and slowly pulled it off, revealing the low cut, spaghetti strapped nightgown. Her perfect breasts were full in the protective cups. He came over and kissed her deeply, hungry and intense. The straps began to fall off her shoulders, and she wiggled her way out of the straps. Mulder's mouth moved to her neck, as his hands roamed her back and her bottom. It felt more amazing than anything. His beautiful lips sending shivers through her body. Mulder stood back and held her shoulders with his hands. "What?" Mulder took off his shirt slowly, and dropped it on the floor. She then took hold of the cups to her nightgown and pulled them so they went down over her breasts, revealing them. "Fuck," he breathed. Scully smiled at him. He looked briefly at her high, round breasts with a very tiny, pink nipple. He enclosed his mouth over her perfect nipple. He suckled on it gently, then ran his tongue over the tip as it hardened beneath his mouth. She inhaled a hiss. He picked her up and almost gracefully lied her down on the bed, until he slipped on one of the books and they fell with a plop on the bed. No time for jokes now, they continued to kiss. She explored with her fingers his beautiful arms, perfect torso, and burning back. She thought she'd been kissed before, she hadn't. His arms cupped her soft breasts, and he squeezed them firmly, enjoying their perfect form. They felt so good. Soft and tender, yet firm. He then moved his hands down her body, and helped her wiggle her way out of her nightgown. He rid himself of the rest of his clothing, and fell ontop of her in a deep kiss. He was still so shocked. His fantasy was coming true, it was a better feeling than he'd ever had in his whole life, for he knew it was real. He loved her, and she loved him. His hands roamed up and down the curves of her waist, and he kissed the area around her nipple. His hands and his head went lower, trailing kisses until reaching her center. He spread her legs delicately and she felt his tongue gently probing the soft nub between her lips. A cry escaped her mouth as he looked up at her to make sure he was doing the right thing. His tongue encircled her clitoris, over and over as she felt waves shattering around her. He enveloped her core in his mouth and suckled on it, hard. Finally, she reached down and pulled his head up towards hers, and arched immediately so he was inside of her. All she could think of was, IT'S ABOUT TIME! He let out a moan and she released her muscles as he left, and tightened her muscles with every thrust. He was kissing her mouth and his arms were around her back, pulling her as close to him as he could get. He would never have enough of her. She was the most beautiful thing he'd ever seen, with the lushest lips and the biggest blue eyes. He began thrusted faster, she moaned and increased speed also. Right before their final thrust, she told him she loved him, and then together, they reached their climax. She pulled him down on top of her and held his head. He still couldn't believe he was naked lying on top of an equally naked Scully. "I love you too," he said between breaths. XxX "Dana?" "Yeah?" "Were you aware Phoebe was back in the states?" "What are you implying?" "It just seems interesting that both Phoebe and Diana burst into our office while we were..." "About to make love? Yes, that is very interesting." "Scully," he said arguing. "What?" "You knew she was coming back, and you arranged it all, didn't you?" "Maybe," she flirted. "Why?" "Just wanted to see exactly who I was up against." "You've seen them both before." "Maybe I wanted *them* to see who they were up against." "They were both long gone." "You can never tell," she said caressing his torso. "You're truly evil. I've never seen this side of your personality." "Neither have I. I think we both changed. And now we're going to change even more. I want to thank you." "For what?" "For trusting me enough to finally tell me about Fowley. I have a question though." "Shoot." "Do you love her still?" Mulder thought about it, which scared Dana. "No. I think your first love will always have a place in your heart, but I wouldn't take her now. I have you. Don't I?" "You've had me since day one you son of a bitch." "That's me." "I love you, Mulder." "I love you. And *only* you. From the beginning." They kissed, and in the living room of Scully's apartment, a stranger stood there, crying silently, deciding to exit, because it wasn't her place anymore.
